What is the deal here? Has there developed a gulf between him and the team that will be insurmountable?

PT has screwed himself bigtime. The Saints offense benefits him more than he benefits it. He should've signed a very good deal with the Saints, instead of trying for money he was never going to get. He will not be a Saint next year. He better hope to God he gets at least what he could've gotten with the Saints, dollar wise. I don't see him being more successful anywhere else. I hope so, but I don't see it.

Reading between the lines, it's pretty clear the team doesn't believe him about his injury

IMO, and I have nothing to back this up, he is basically sitting out the season while getting paid until he gets a new contract. The Saints see through this and are pretty pissed about it. I see PT's side of the arguement because if he played for the peanuts he was due to make and got hurt that could be his career. But I think he went about it the wrong way. Other teams are likely seeing through his charade as well. Will be interesting to see how much he gets offered and by whom this offseason. I think the Saints won't offer him at all.

He and Shockey are comparing their vagina injuries as we speak.

Not sure what all's going on with the injury, but letting Ivory and Hamilton in the door really hurts his long-term prospects with the team. But then he may be as hurt as is claimed and there's nothing he can do about it.

edt: Him and his agent should never have used Reggie as their benchmark for salary. It was never going to happen. What I think they failed to realize is that (and the team will never admit this) they wouldn't pay Reggie himself that kind of $$ if they could have a do over. Just my opinion.

I think he is legitimately hurt, that part I believe. All of the other infighting leads to more questions than I have answers to however....

Didn't he have a torn ligament that would have been better served with a surgical procedure? Y'all should be criticizing the Saints medical staff for not advising him to get the surgery right away.

I figured the medical staff misdiagnose again... as usual, torn ligament instead of sprain

I've come to the conclusion that you just enjoy being wrong and proven wrong all the time.

Yes. it is called an injury, more severe than originally reported. Nothing more, nothing less. there is nothing sinister going on. SP would love to have him starting tomorrow.

Word is it may have been a torn "tendon" not "ligament". Just throwing that out there.
