I just started a new business and am looking to get a logo designed. There are websites that do this. Has anyone had any experience with any of them?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

elance.com
post an RFP for what you want and you'll get a bunch of bids. The good ones will include a bunch of samples of their work. You should put in your RFP that you'll need about 4 concept ideas, then refinement of the one you pick. I've had a couple of logos done with elance contractors, one was $75 and one was $125

logonerds.com is what I've used in the past and I like them.
Elance is hit or miss and most will just use a template logo from one of the big sites.
You need to make sure that you specifiy in your bid request that all work is original.

try logotournament.com You put up a price, say $300 and then a bunch of people submit a design, winner takes all

e lance is good as stated... Local design shops are more expensive but also provide many more services with the logo.
Know what you want and be picky. Dont allow the designer to talk you into something that you dont want. Be specific with the markups and provide them with examples of logos you like.
