I will never use Amazon to purchase a video game, esp. pre-order, ever again.
I had issues with MOH being delivered in a timely fashion.

Now, I pre-ordered COD a month ago and purposely chose two-day shipping so I would have the game for Friday when I get off work. I get an email today that the release date for the game is Nov. 9th (duh) and I should receive it on NOVEMBER 15! That is with 2 day shipping. I changed my shipping status to 1 day... and now it is giving me a November 12th date.

NEVER AGAIN AMAZON

maybe you just suck at the internet

i've never had a problem at all

also, game preorders have 99 cent release day shipping, so thats the option you should have selected

eta: i just ordered on sunday and this is my status:

Shipment 1 of 1
Not yet shipped
Delivery Estimate: November 9, 2010

i also got it with a 20 dollar bonus gift card

ditto.

i've never had a problem with Amazon with video games. I do the release date shipping and they are sitting on my doorstep at 4 PM.

Why wouldn't you do release day shipping? It's like $5. I've preordered twice and got both my games on release day.

they just put it back on the options

you should cancel and reorder if you can

a buddy at work just did that and it worked fine for him

I haven't had a problem with Amazon either. Sorry that you have had this problem.

I love the $20 off deal I get every other purchase or so

I preorder all my games from amazon. In addition to no tax which saves a few bucks, release day shipping is 1 dollar. I got Goldeneye yesterday (release day) no problems.

Also I would call Amazon. Explain your issue and I bet they fix it.

apparently black ops did not allow vendors to give a free gift card with purchase for black ops for some reason

so amazon decided to loophole them and give you 200 rewards points when you preorder BO

well...guess what 200 rewards points equates to?

I was able to get the release date delivery by cancelling and re-ordering... Either I'm going blind, suck at the internet or didn't see that option a month ago.

Thanks for the help.

I had an issue with release-date delivery not showing up for Fable 3. Sent them an e-mail about it and it was fixed within a couple days.

I've also typically gotten things ahead of their estimated date when not using release-date or 1-day delivery. That coupled with the repeated offers of 20$ off the next purchase, yeah, amazon gets most of my game business.

Yeah I would call them if you have a problem. I regularly pre-order and trade games in with them and have never had a problem.

Well shitballs, in this thread I said I would never buy from Gamestop again and I'd start buying games on Amazon, so what the hell am I supposed to do now?

all the retailers were a couple months ago, then they all took it away

i read somewhere that activision made them do that, i'm not sure how they can do that though

it recently came back but its only points with amazon but 2 months ago it was a gift card

same thing really though, in the long run

I got the email from amazon also and ordered my game, with release date shipping.
My email said something about 200 rewards points but for the life of me I can't find anything about my points since putting in my order.

Where do I go to get my points?

yes, but if i'm not mistaken, the 20 bucks can only be used on gaming purchases, not just any amazon purchase

i ordered MOH a couple weeks ago with the 20 dollar bonus, so I got it for 39

i just traded it in to amazon and they gave me 39.50 for it which i put towards black ops....so i bought black ops for 20 bucks and I'm getting a 20 dollar gift card back, so i did alright i think
