Do you receive or defer?

If Miles wins the toss, i hope he receives the ball. LSU can control some clock settle the fans, and not let Newton run his first 10 scripted plays, maybe have success and light up the crowd. LSU needs to weather the onslaught of the crowd in the beginning.

meh pretty stupid IMO

LSU's strength is defense...DEFER as always in CFB

also, i don't get your argument about scripting the first 10 plays...they can do that whether they get the ball first or second

I would agree totally if Lee were starting. But alas...

I would ALWAYS defer. There are so many more pluses to getting the ball to start the second half.

Also, the fact is, with JJ starting it runs to big a risk of 3-out or a bad to that would put the d in a bad spot to start the game.

What I worry about is if AU comes out scores against "our strength" and now puts pressure on our offense to keep up.

If LSU takes the ball, they can settle the crowd, and maybe drive down and at least get a field goal like they did against FLA.

The crowd will be no different in the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th quarters.

Defer

JJ is starting the game. That probably means 3 and out which wouldn't settle the crowd at all. However, having their "best offense ever" shut down to a 3 and out with a big hit on God...I mean Cam Newton, would shut them up.

Defer. I say ALWAYS defer especially when you are on the road. #1 put your strength on the field & let them do their thing. #2 with the rotating of qb's, if JJ starts, then it won't be very fruitful to have him go out there hand the ball off, run a weak-side option, then throw a 3 yrd pass on 3rd & 7. #3 Recieving the ball to start the 2nd half is ALWAYS a win win situation-it sets the tone & puts their weakness out on the field to start the second half.

G E A U X T I G E R S!!!

That's good in theory, but our offense (with Miles' QB rotation) has a bad habit of going 3-out or worse turning it over deep in our own territiory to start games.

Simply put, I don't know how anyone could trust JJ enough not to put us in a hole to start.

Rather take my chances with the D, then start the second halef with a bang on offense.

Defer, 3 and out and PP gets a return for 6, that would awesome!

Not a bad idea if JJ is not the QB under center on the first series.

Receive might actually be a good choice if Auburn dares kick it to PP.

When was the game where LSU won the toss and a defensive guy who was a captain asked for us to go on defense first, which resulted in LSU kicking off to start both halves?

(I tried searching google, but couldn't find it)

Let's not do that.

this means Jlee would then get the start...!!!!

fwiw.....defer...if they put points on the board...Jlee goes in....if they dont...still even game because we'll put JJ in and they will get a 3 and out
