I would love to sign 25 this year with Louisiana talent being so deep, but that would be a high attrition amount, unless I'm missing something...

The coaching staff will make the #s work. Some players could get other types of finanical aid & there is always some attrition/transfers, etc.

We won't sign 25 unless we get a couple huge surprises. If that is the case, we will have a big attrition #.

Also, I think it depends on who we get in this class. That will be where attrition happens the most. For instance, if LSU lands Robinson, I can see a guy like Branch leaving even though he is on the two deep. Keep in mind LSU is already under the 85 man limit right now too I think.

List of attrition candidates so far, IMO(this doesn't mean all will leave):

Chris Tolliver
Drayton Calhoun
Ryan St. Julien
Derrick Bryant
Josh Johns
Rocky Duplessis
Tyler Edwards
Kellen Theriot
Greg Shaw
Matt Branch
Chris Davenport
Bennie Logan
Chancey Aghayere

I only list some of the dlineman because attrition has to come along there somewhere, especially if we get some big surprises this year, which it is looking like we might. Also, some of those guys will be Seniors next year but they can still leave and play 1 year of Football somewhere...

Obviously not all of those are going to leave. Plus, we'll likely have attrition from discipline, a surprise somewhere, medical, etc. and PP will be leaving early...we'll be ok.

I've said all along the staff's # is probably 20-22 tops.

17 now, finish with...

Beckham Jr.
Mettenberger
Robinson or bust at OL
Mickey Johnson
1 "Surprise"

Possibly drop Botts since we have Wing?

Wouldn't mind to sign and place D'shaq Williams because he could be a great JUCO pickup if needed later on.

No. We're under the 85 now I think. We had to greyshirt Fordham because we signed 26 and you can only give 25 ships out.

Fordham didn't get one. One of the walk-ons got one vacated by ZLee.

I think we have 2-3 walk-ons with schollies this year.

This problem woudnt happen if they didnt red shirt so many players.. I understand QB, DL and OL..But all other perimeter players shouldnt be redhsirted period (unless injury) Thats why there's special teams.

Still too early on some of these kids, but Aghayere is getting playing time, I don't see him going anywhere...

That kid is talented, would hate for him to end up at another SEC school in a couple of years...

Tyler Edwards is getting snaps at H-back, Fullback, and Tight End... I wouldn't exactly call him an attrition candidate...

I am a little worried about running back, we have got a lot of guys coming back next year and a lot coming in as well...

if we have 82 on scholly right now (not counting the walk ons that wouldn't be guaranteed one next year). Lose 9 SRs. Plus PP. That leaves 13 open spots. Thats a lot of attrition that would have to happen

Why is everyone so sold on PP leaving this year?

Because it makes the most sense for him to leave after this year.

I was just wondering if he had made public how he felt.

No, I don't think he's made a definitive statement either way. But I would have to think after weighing all his options, that going after this year would be in his best interest.
