Ask yourself, if LSU plays great in all phases of the game this weekend and loses, will you be more satisfied? Or would you prefer a win coupled with another failure on offense?

No, most will say because Florida is "down" this year. This game is irrelevant.

Why do so many people have trouble with others who actually want to see the tigers play to their full potential with no mental errors by players or coaches.

If they do that, they win in a walk.

If LSU plays great in all phases of the game, you would think that would automatically translate into a win. However, let me say this. If LSU plays great in all phases of the game, IOW they execute to the best of their ability and manage the game properly and lose to a better team, then I CAN LIVE WITH THAT JUST FINE, because that's football. What I cannot live with is crapping all over the field and getting excited because you back into a win when you really shouldn't have won, and then expect everyone to be tickled to death that you coached and played like shite with penalties out the arse, horrific clock mgmt, and the like, and then expect to be able to compete with crap like that in future games.

Some of you are really ignorant. Recent history tells us that we win the easy games early in the year (4-0, 5-0 the last two years) then fall off against tougher competition the 2nd half.

Can you understand why people aren't singing the praises of this team yet?

I'll be unhappy.

I love the depth of your football knowlege.

you see, that's wrong as hell. playing up to your full potential might beat MSU, but not necessarity the real good teams with real good athletes and real good coaching. your conception that LSU is alone at the top with talent is a misconception. florida has just as good of athlete as we have, has a strong motivation to win this game and is playing at home. if both teams play up to their ability, the "breaks" will probably determine the winner. a critical ref call, a timely turnover, etc. the concept that LSU is omnipotent and is only held back by our HC (who recruited these athletes) is silly and notional without any substantiation whatsoever.

I just get the feeling that people look at the LSU team and think that we have unchallenged talent at every position except quarterback and coaching. The reality is that we have played motivated and strong competition each week for the first 5 weeks. The coaches and the players deserve a lot of credit for being in a position to win each week and actually winning. And dont give me that crap about having more talent than everyone else. Ask Georgia and Texas how far talent will take you.

A lot of LSU fans have an ideal vision of how good we used to be (we were never as good as they think we were), or how good we could be (very few teams can be consistently great year in year out).

The reality is that this team could be great. Sometimes great teams need some luck (ask Alabama last year against Tennessee). This team is not far away from getting all the pieces together (i.e. passing offense is the last piece of the puzzle). It would be nice to get behind the team and cheer them on for what they are great at instead of constantly trying to bring them down for what they are weak at. I really wonder if those fans that do that think they are helping the team.

So how many times do you really think we are going to luck into wins here saz?

Yeah, we won, and we're 5-0, but do you really honestly think that LSU is going to be able to play like they did, coach like they did, manage the clock like they did last Saturday and compete against the rest of the schedule, save McNeese, because we have a secret closet full of magic rabbits feet?

I would be happy with a win. Florida is a quality team and a big SEC opponent for LSU. LSU owes UF a butt-whoopin at home. A win SHOULD bring Les criticism for this team.

I will take the win any way i can get it. A horrible, horrible win is far better than a loss. Anyone who thinks any differently is an idiot. They're the same bandwagoners that counter any kudos to the 2007 National Championship with "Yeah, but we had 2 losses that year..."

The state of LSU Football fandom is deplorable. I've never seen anything like it.

Then you don't pay much attention to college football, especially in the SEC.

I think it is because a lot of fans were not around for the crappy years of LSU football.

It is hard to get it through their thick skull that 'this' is pretty much as good as it gets in this conference. Even the all mighty Saban lost to ULM.

I'm like this about all competition:

Beforehand, of course I want a win.

Afterward though, it's about performance. If you lined up, played your 'A' game, gave 'em your knockout punch, and it wasn't enough, you know they were the better team. I don't walk away too pissed off.

After the UT game, I was pissed.

LSU Grand Dad,

I have enjoyed and agreed with most of your posts and have never seen you react very negatively to mine, but I will respectfully disagree with the insinuation of this post.

I do not know of any Tiger fans who want our team to lose for any reason. I personally will take an ugly win over any kind of loss.

The truth is that with all of the issues we have seen, mostly stemming from coaching issues, false promises and very negative national press, Tiger fans are just really frustrated and looking for a way to express this frustration. I will not rehash everything that has been covered numerous times but if we continue to see the same problems, hear the same promises to fix them but no visible evidence of corrections, the fans will continue to complain, whine and criticise unmercifully. That is the nature of the beast.

Are Tiger fans 2 faced - I dont beleive so

Are Tiger fans demanding - absolutely

Are Tiger fans patient - ha ha ha!

Do Tiger fans want their team to win - you bet!!
