Anyone else expecting more out of him? He has yet to develop into the phenomenal OT the coaches said he would be. I often wonder how good of a DT he would have been.

(had to add this)
Our Oline is very good but he seems to be the weak link. Penalties, gives up sacks now he's $ against the run, but his pass protection isn't that great. Maybe it just me. My apologies if i'm over thinking but his penalties and getting whipped off the edge is noticeable.

He's the starting left tackle and our dline is dominant this year. I think the coaches made the right choice on this one.

Given the attrition on the line and the Blackwell injury to start the season, I would say the O-line has been a big positive this year, especially run blocking. I've also been impressed with their ability to dominate the fourth quarter.

I haven't heard his name mentioned too much this year.

Doesn't that mean, as an offensive lineman, he is doing good?

What more do you want from him. He's doing really well since switching from RT to LT.

Would have been another Al Woods, space eatting DT that tiger fans would have hated because he didn't live up to his potential.

Hey if it's just me i apologize. I just know that the left side of LSU's OL has always been the most dominant. Our best guard and tackle normally plays on the left side. I'm used to LSU's LT and or LG being All Americans & dominant. OSU moved Vernon G to the left end b/c he got nothing on our right side. I just seen an average LT the coaches are proud of and waiting 2 graduate so we can get a young future All American in there. Maybe it's just me.

Yes i agree "SOLID" Where are our most recent LT's/LG's? Either in the NFL on current/practice rosters or the UFL. Our LT has to be better than solid!

This. The penalties in the last game aside, JB has done a pretty good job for moving to a new position. 5 sacks in 4 games and I only remember one being mostly on Joe. He's had several pancake blocks so far and looking more comfortable each game.

Seriously? Peterman played on the right side.

As for your whole topic, it's oversimplified. With a righty at QB, the defense is going to rush hard from the offense's left side (blind side). That is why you put your best tackle there. Also, there has been a lot of discussion about the QB dropping too deep, which makes it VERY difficult for the LT to hold the edge. I think he's played a lot better than you are giving him credit for.

I agree with this. Unless you're willing to put in about 20 to 30 hours reviewing film of every game this season, looking at the blocking scheme of each play, how each lineman fits into the scheme and how JB has performed in the scheme, I think it's impossible to say whether he has been good, bad or indifferent.
