Did a search and didn't see this posted yet, LINK

quote:

Comedian and former Saturday Night Live Weekend Update host Norm MacDonald may be getting his own weekly sports show on Comedy Central.

quote:

Macdonald described the show as "a Daily Show for sports" in an interview with the New York Times earlier this month.

LINK
quote:

The show is not a sure thing at the network and will likely have internal competition from a similarly themed satirical sports program that Comedy Central is developing with the Onion News Network.

I think this would be badass, hope it happens.

I love this idea, but not sure if he's the right guy. We'll see I guess

Norm was a great athlete in high school apparently. I'm intrigued.

Funny guy, but his Bob Saget roast was horribly overrated. Just seemed cool for everyone to say that it was "brilliant" even though they didn't laugh at him intentionally bombing.

It was funny because the rest of the roasting really wasn't.

I think he would work, with his weekend update experience and he hosted the espy's once. Plus he's a big gambler so he should know his sports.

Jay Mohr would be the better pick.

Already has street cred within sports cuz of Jim Rome and Jerry Maguire.

From Wiki:

quote:

After completing 7th grade, MacDonald attended Quebec High School in Quebec City. Canadian journalist Neil MacDonald is his brother. Norm was a great painter in high school earning many awards including Junior Canadian of the year. He also spent his highschool years as a basketball star, he was a point guard and was voted MVP the year they won the Q.S.S.D. BasketBall Championships.

I would love for this to happen, but having a TV show is hard work. Watching Norm the past 10 years, I get the feeling he wouldn't be interested in devoting himself to a demanding job.

I'll never (ever) understand the love that Norm MacDonald gets. He is simply awful. Yes, I "get it." I just think it's stupid and not entertaining. But I always seem to be in the pretty vast minority on that.

And I agree with this:

Jay Mohr would be the better pick.

I would give it a go, but this show would have a lot more potential with a little Kevin Nealon thrown in. Lately, I think Norm has tried to hard, but Old Norm is money. I miss Old Norm.

edit: I am sick of new norm's really dry, trying to be funny by being not funny, schtick
