LIVING in THE PAST 2 years. I am not the biggest Glenn Guilbeau fan, but this quote from his blog sums up the problem with many Tiger fans.

Glenn Guilbeau:
I look at this season as a separate entity. Many fans, like yourself, are looking at this season with the baggage from the last two on top of it. You're not looking at it freshly, and if you did you'd realize that this is a better team than the last two even though the passing is not better. The defense, running game, offensive line and special teams are all better than the last two years. But you guys can't see it, because you're still upset from the last two seasons and want Miles gone.

I don't want Miles gone, I want him to hire an OC, and let the OC do his damn job. The OC needs to be able to COACH QB's, recruit players that fit his vision, call good plays, makes plays that utilize the strengths that he has in front of him. That is all.

It still baffles me how the coaches aren't innovative Choctaw. They keep doing the same thing. If it's not working, change.

Yes, we're all thrilled about the great defense, the improved O-line, and the rejuvenated running game...

but you can't help but be frustrated with the Offensive play calling and the terrible QB play.

Glen Gilbeau always seems to go for the "holier than thou" approach to critiquing the LSU team and the fans.

Call it like it is, this is a Championship-Caliber team that is being bogged down by bad coaching on the offensive side and bad play at the QB position.

Boy he was fire today
quote:

Glenn Guilbeau: Going to the SWAMP never helps, james. LSU fans really show their stupidity when they boo Jefferson or any other player. I can see booing the overpaid coaches at times, but not the players, particularly because it could enhance your chance of losing the game. I like how Jordan has reacted to the boos. He's shown a competitive spirit. He's basically said you can all go screw yourself.

I agree with him. There are aspects of this team that are better than '08 and '09. OL play is better, which in turn the running game is better, ST is better as well as Defense. That is a recipe to win games.

However, to win the division and the conference with just a running game, you need to be able to rush for more yards a game than what we've been doing, and you need a QB and an offense that can make a defense pay when they load up to stop the run.

Go Tigers!

+1

I have NO DOUBT Coach Miles will make changes with the OC at the end of the season just as he did in Co-DC that lead to bringing in Chavis.

Even with lackluster QB, Tigers defense and special teams good enough to win every game.

True, but the offense sucks and he should have gotten rid of Gary "Lou Tepper" Crowton last January. I think Miles is a good Head Coach and don't want him fired, but he is on the verge of losing his team and overall fan support.

Guilbeau is just pandering to the Posi-tiger crowd, just like he panders to the nega-tigers...he knows what he is doing, and learns from Finebaum.

No one knows who was being boo-ed. For all we know, the coaches were being boo-ed.

We all know this team is better than last year. We also know that you probably won't win championships without a passing game. Good defenses like Alabama's and Florida's will stack the box, and shut down our run. Then what?

There is no way Crowton is the OC next season.

I think this years team is a vast improvement from the last two years. Everything seems to be clicking expect the QB play. We are going on year three of the same shite. JJ aint working right now. It is time to try something new. Other then that I am pretty happy right now.

I've seen you post this a couple of times. it was pretty obvious they were booing JJ even if they want to rationalize it as booing the coaches decision to play JJ I don't really see a difference. I'm pretty damn sure JJ doesn't either.

how do you know this? How do you know they weren't directing the boos at Miles in an effort to get him to make the change that most people want?

chicken,

I think the boos were mixed, with a larger percentage towards JJ. Why? Because the same assholes boo'd JL 2 years ago. Then, they cheer for him when he enters the game. I agree with you that some were booing Miles and GC, but you have to see why I say a larger percentage was booing JJ.
