Holy crap! Is this possible? I'm afraid it is. Offensive ranks as of this point in the season:
ULM: 95; ULL: 100; LSU: 102.

To be honest, it's half the offense. the running game is doing it's job. Don't lump in the ENTIRE offense into these results.

Even better, there are only two teams from BCS conferences with offenses below LSU.

But most of the BCS teams have records worse that LSU. I think I would rather be 4-0 with a crappy offense than 0-4 and have the #1 rated offense.

Nonsense statement. Only one team ranked in the top ten for offense does not have a winning record and they are 2-2. Furthermore, if you don't see something a bit illusory about our 4-0 record then you are not paying attention.

And there are still many that chastise and pound their chests about 4-0 ... when there is obviously major reason for concern.

I don't disagree with you but I remember us starting off 5-0 the past two seasons. Where did we end up?

You can't continually ask the defense to hold teams to so few points. Florida, Auburn, Bama, and Arkansas can move the ball better than any of our previous opponents. We will go 0-4 in those games if the offense doesn't improve and the defense keeps doing what they are doing.

North Carolina: depleted squad; fortunate to win.

Vandy, Miss St.: lower tier SEC teams (State is a solid club though)

W. Virginia: Our offense has one drive (one drive!) longer than 20 yards. Only offensive touchdown came on a 7 (7!) yard drive that took four plays to score a TD. Teams will generally lose 90% of their games where this happens.

So what. We'd beat both of them.

Is that accurate?

Your argument is not illusory, it is false. I don't know what is illusory about our 4-0 record. It is a fact - not deceptive, not unreal, not misleading, but an actual fact.
