Granted we haven't played anyone yet, but I think Shep is developing very well. I cannot help to think what contributions he would have made last year if he was properly utilized. Like Reggie Bush, everytime he touches the ball, it's electrifying. I will go as far to say he's a legitimate Heisman candidate if properly utilized. He should touch the ball 20-25 times a game. I hope he continues to have a huge season and come back for one more (not likely if he does have a huge season).

SG,

I said he should; that doesn't mean he will, unless you're laughing because you disagree, which would be retarded.

I really think Shep will play 4 years at LSU. He seems to really love it, and with his build he prob wouldn't be projected high enough in the draft to tempt him. Even though he's clearly an electrifying talent

RS will never be used properly as long as Crowton is here managing the offense and calling plays. For instance, in last week's game against Vanderbilt, JJ's number was called to run the ball 13 times, while RS had just 7 rushes. Now who has a much higher yards per carry average, JJ or RS? And people wonder why we finished 112th in total offense last year and why fans stay pissed off!

unless he starts screwing up with fumbles and/or drops, I think he should be getting pissed off. He's our Percy Harvin and Dexter McCluster mixed into 1. He should be given the ball in most situations. He is the KEY to a good running game; he has the ability to open up the running game.

and he shouldn't. We have too many playmakers to give a third of the touches to one player.

I don't think this is correct. JJ may have ran the ball 13 times....but i don't think they were called running plays.

He really is not getting that many touches. He is only getting 8 per game (12 Rush, 4 Rec, 16 total)which will put him at 96 touches for the season if you average it out. I suspect it will be even tougher to get the ball in his hands as we play some better defenses down the road. By comparison he had 50 touches last season (45 Rush, 5 Rec)and we barely saw him at all last season. I think somewhere reasonable that will be truly utilizing his talent would be more like 12-15 touches per game.
