If a lineman grades out at 80% is that considered a good, average, or poor grade?

Decent I think. I was a running back so I never really knew what the o-line grade entails, but I think it basically means more or less that the o-lineman took care of his blocking assignment on 80% of the plays.

I would think if you ran 70 plays and you didn't carry out your assignment in 14 of the plays it would be considered poor to average. Poor or average just won't win many games.Regardless the score of the lineman, the score is really a reflection of the coaches who coach those linemen. I think our O-Line has improved because of the GA Ben Wilkerson who I understand has been working with the O-Line on individual drills and fundamentals. The O-Line seems to have made major steps so far this season over last season.

Lineman pretty much never grade in the 90's so if you grade anyone in the 80's you did pretty well.

80 sounds like a decent game.

FWIW, learned that from the John Ed Bradley book.
