Why Jarret Lee Should NOT start

His impressive 2009 stats:
And here are his equally impressive stats from LA TECH outing... yes, he racked up these impressive numbers against the vaunted LOUISIANA TECH defense:
Funny how quickly everyone forgets. 31.8% completion rating against LA freaking Tech. One pass and this board prematurely jizzes in it's pants. Think back to the LA tech game, who were you screaming for then? That is right, the back up. This offense's primary problem isn't who the QB is, it is the scheme... or lack there of.
Oh let me guess, you are going to tell me how much Lee has improved since last year right? I know I saw a strong improvement from 2008 to 2009, and clearly, he had to have made bigger strides than JJ because this coaching staff is world renowned for their talent developing ability. Right? Let me help you. No, wrong.

Facts don't mean anything for Lee backers.

Do us a favor and pull up JJ's stats from
yesterday's game.

no offense, but i stopped reading your post right here when this thought came to my head:
WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T GIVE A GUY A CHANCE BECAUSE OF HOW SHITTY HE DID LAST YEAR.
happy now?

Play the hot hand, we don't have a QB that is going to step up...Andrew Hatch would be welcome right now if he showed he could complete a pass...

You think that nobody can progress?

Who were you crying for at the LA Tech game last year?

8/20 96 4.8 0 1
Guess whose stats those are? Against the vaunted Vandy defense. Very impressive.

first of all, he is now an "upper classman" playing with more confidence than a typical freshman and soph. that same confidence that i DON'T see in jj.

At the time JLee got the start against Tech, our offense was already in the shitter.
You can't deny the kid needs a shot.

I doesn't look like JJ has. Lee sure as hell didn't from 2008- 2009. So, I'm thinking it is unlikely he is a completely different player than he has for his entire career. I'm pretty sure he didn't turn into Tom Brady over night.
But by all means, lets disregard the very large sample of 300 atte4mpts, for the ONE completion last night.

Archie, your right JLee sucked back then. JJ sucks now, they just want to see if JLee still sucks. Whats wrong with that. IF he still sucks believe you me Les will be quick to put JJ back in

Archie Bengal Bunker...
That was THEN, this is NOW.
People change, and make progress. The guy lost a bunch of weight and worked hard in the offseason. JJ is NOT going to get this done for us. He doesn't have the confidence or leadership to get it done. Everyone can see that. NOW, he might very well prove to be the best we have, but we won't know that for certain until we give LEE a shot at guiding this team. Everyone deserves a second chance. I'm more than willing to give him that chance in the hopes that he has improved, and I think he has to be honest with you.

Lee may not be any better than he was last year, but I think he deserves a shot at it.

I have no problem with Lee getting reps with the first team early in the game. A series or two to see what's what.
He shouldn't be the starter though.
If he plays well with the time he is given, then he should be the starter.
