Available credit problem

i have a credit card that has a $1500 credit limit. I just got back from a trip where i used this card for hotel room and rental car. between the 2 it cost be about $500. The 2 charges showed up on my account online. the 2 companies also put a hold on my card which was almosst $800 more. needless to say, with a few gas purchases i have ended up going 10 cents over my credit becuase of the $800 hold.

Nothing more than a temporary drop.
When your 'available' gets normal again, it will bounce back up.
I'd be interested to know if you get hit with an overlimit fee. Let us know.
You shouldn't but banks these days..........

I hope you're right. But I wouldn't be surprised if i get hit with some fees, they lower my available credit, and my credit score takes a ding.

The hold should not appear at all on your credit report. 500 + gas purchases will report. A bank does not issue a charge to you or report that charge until the money has been exchanged. You shouldnt have an overdraft either but it will decline probably if you go over whatever threshold your CC has. If the hold goes through in full THEN you have an over the limit charge.. Which of course if that were to happen since Aug 22nd wouldnt amount to anything if its just 10 cents over. But of course that shouldnt happen since the hold will just release.

No fee or anything, my account is back to normal now. i guess they released the $800
