Help with my first pick

I have the 9 spot in a standard 12 man league.
I have a feeling that Andre Johnson and Brees will go ahead of me. If that does happen I will have the option of two of the three Gore, Turner, Jackson. I will put Rodgers in there just to see what you guys say.
If Brees and Andre do not go in front of me i will have to choose between S Jax and Rodgers.. (others).
What would you guys do?

pick the best rb available and grab peyton on the turn

Looks like sjax will be ur best bet. Steady and no rbbc. Good 1st rd pick. All others will prob be gone.

I am thinking the same thing. I am not really big on Jackson, but he will be the best avaliable.. I just hate how horrible their O-line is. Plus side is theat he is in no RBBC like you noted. I am hoping that Tuner is avaliable. that would be golden!!
I dont like taking Rodgers in the first bc I feel that Romo/Schaub whom i can grab in the 4th is not much of a fall off.. I really dont like a WR as my first in the 9th position bc no matter who I pick I can grab an equally as good WR in the 2nd.

why do people do this? never go into a draft with a goal, or pre-determined positional picks each round..it makes NO SENSE

Honkus: I agree, I really dont like S Jax.
Toula, I have went throungh a few mocks with this template and it has resulted in pretty dam good teams. With that said, if i get to the 2nd and an excellent RB is avaliable im not going to pass because i have a "plan". Same goes for the 3rd-5th.

I know what u mean, but that just sounds kinda silly. There's nothing wrong w/ having a roadmap for your draft, but it value falls u gotta adjust
Generally I try to get 2RB/3WR 1st 5 rounds

Rodgers if he's there, that's saying a lot bc I never draft QBs early
After the elite RBs are gone I'd just grab a sure thing like AR, instead of rolling the dice w/ a mendenhall or SJax
You should be n good position to pick up Mathews n the 2nd

I guess I should ask you this because I am not big on a QB early either. Lets say Turner, AJ, Gore is gone and I dont want to go QB. what would you do?

Yes, but the top 6-7 qb's arent that far off from each other.
I kinda feel the same about Moss as I do S Jax.. I am just scared of him.
