...left me feeling better about him.

quote:

“From a physical standpoint, Stephen is ahead of where Philip was,” said Creasy (his high school coach). “He’s bigger. He’s faster. His footwork is better. He throws a much better ball than Philip did.”

“Coach Miles and the whole staff at LSU is very family oriented, and they’re a high character group of men, and I think that being down there with them was not only something that Stephen felt comfortable with, it was something that his family felt comfortable with,” said Creasy.

“He’s taken a lot of visits. He’s been around a lot of places. He visited schools on the west coast and the east coast, and he went to LSU and knew that that was the place for him. He just felt at home there, and that it was the best situation for him.”

"But Rivals.com is much higher on the younger Rivers, rating him the No. 10 quarterback in America, compared to Scout.com ranking him at No. 30."

We can hope that because of his older brother, that he will get plenty of help in learning how to read defenses, recognize coverages and blitzes, etc. If he is truly a hard worker and student of the game, he could turn out to be a very solid QB with his already developed physical skills.

People forget how good Phillip was in college, too. All of NC State revolved around Phillip Rivers. If his little brother is even a shade of him... we'll be in good shape.

exctly what I expected. as I said the other day, just being around and talking with his bro will help this kid maximise his potential. the discription of our staff, by a man who knows and lives coaching, illuminates the stupidity of the haters who infest this board. excellent read and the sky is the limit for kids like Stephen Rivers.

Yep, Norm Chow turned Philip Rivers into an All-Pro during that ONE year he was at NC State.

All you really need to know. He has the body and the ability to do great things. Now you can see he will work hard and do all the right things including representing LSU in the best way.

The rest will take care of itself...I think we have a tremendous human coming into our program. Good things happen to people like him.

I think he's one of those 16-17 year old kids who needs to grown into that big body.Tremendous upside on this guy who appears to get the mental aspect of the game.Imagine him in tw years at 6'7" 230-240lbs.I'm happy with him now go get another scrambling type to compliment him with.

Does he mean taller, because S. Rivers is pretty damn skinny.

Rivers looks to be a project, which is unfortunate for LSU.
