Good luck to the kid. I feel bad for him. Don't give a shite if it happens other places like Bama, its still bullshite. Especially if it was handled like some people have mentioned...

Then its not as bad. LSU still shouldn't have over signed like they did considering they knew everyone was close to qualifying as it is.

If they communicated to him long before this happened, then its not as bad. Still shitty for him.

I seem to remember him saying in a interview before LSU offered him, he would not take a grayshirt. He directly communicated that to the staff. So, why did they offer it to him if they knew he wasn't going to take it?

Yeah, it's a travesty. Kids going to be living on the streets now. fricking Miles kept him from being able to visit other schools and joining another team. Just awful.

Oh wait...

no, you're remembering yourself posting this exact same post on another board & being corrected by someone who knows.

Good luck to the kid. Was true life-long Tiger fan from what I saw, and I don't blame him at all for not feeling comfortable here after the whole fiasco.

I hope he has a great career at Kentucky. None of this situation was his fault, but he's the one to suffer the consequences.

Ok my genius how did LSU know in advance that everyone woud qualify? If one hadn't you would be leading the crowd bitching about the fact that they could have signed one more.

And you have personal knowlege as to how the communication was handled?

Make up you mind. Was it suggested before hand or not?

If there was a chance of his gray shirting and he knew it, since it was apparently discussed before hand, whay didn't he just say "No thanks." to LSU and not even sign?

He played the game.

Good god what?

He told them he was not taking a grayshirt before they even offered him a ship. They agreed. Then they come back and ask him for a grayshirt? Especially when you have a prime candidate in a Punter that isn't needed when you have Helton and Alleman can punt too?

Makes a lot of sense. LSU wasn't given any favors by the NCAA rule change but why the hell would they ask someone to grayshirt when he specifically told them he wasn't going to grayshirt. They communicated this in his recruiting before they even offered him...

They had it on their mind he would be a grayshirt candidate, he refused, they said ok. They lied to him. Plain and simple.

when "fricked over" means literally 400+ other OL would kill to have the option he did.

Well that goes against all those that think Miles never discussed a greyshirt situation before the first week of August.

Exactly.

People need to quit acting like this kid was given the death penalty. He wanted to play at LSU they could have just told him hey you are not in our top 25 picks so we just won't offer you anything. They gave him a chance but things didn't go his way here. So he moved on to another school. He is going to be ok.

It would be interesting to see how Porter handles adversity from now on.
