Last night I:

Liked:
Adrian Arrington - looked real good last night. could make an impact this year
Jonathan Casiallas - hard hitter, played real hard. looking forward to seeing more of him
Junior Gallette - i agree with the coaches saying he's raw but man, this guy seems like he could be a stud
Larry Beavers - the kick return is great. maybe he could be this years Rod Harper
Garret Hartley - he was rocking some punts last night
Chris Ivory - thought he ran better than Hill last night
2nd String D-line - Thought they played great as a whole unit.

Didn't Like:
Special Teams - except for Beavers TD, the coverage teams did a terrible job last night
Blitz Pickup - Drew got his clocked cleaned up one play due to a missed block. don't like seeing our best player getting hit that hard in preseaon
Tackling - i know Edelman is a Welker clone but we sure made him look better last night
Run Defense - still needs some work. not encouraging when Maroney and Green-Ellis can run all over you

Need More:
Patrick Ramsey - thought he was jumpy on the first few series but after he settled in, the looked good. still need to see more though
Chase Daniel - kinda the same as Ramsey, looked good but not great. i think he has more potential than Ramsey though
Chip Vaugh - one nice tackle on Special teams but other than that, he didn't get a lot of time to show me much
Stanley Arrnoux - he was a non factor last night
Al Woods - played good with the whole unit but he didn't stand out last night
Jimmy Grahm - still needs some work. i was expecting him to "wow" me last night

Agree? Disagree?

I really thing Young is gone after pre-season. He really has done nothing in his time here to prove that he is worthy of being on this team.

i hate to agree but Young just hasn't done really much since he's been here. He is really likeable guy but that's it.

Agree with the entire post... Except I add a few don't likes:
-it's a preseason game, when you're the superbowl champs playing a team you embarrassed last year, the intensity will be weighed on the losers favor...
-our fans need to chill out in general
-chase daniel's interception was not his fault. It was a tough throw, and granted it was a hard hit, it's the receivers job to hold onto the ball

I disagree, he has been burnt, sure, but I think he could serve as a backup to Roman Harper and still be a special teams gunner because he hits hard and isn't afraid to drop his hat on big backs. His coverage skills just aren't what they need to be. I'm not saying he's a lock to make the team, but he's more reliable than Chris Reis imo. His versatility, youth, and knowledge of the system might give him a leg up on guys like Pierson, Torrance, Chip, and Reis. But I definitely don't look forward to seeing him lined up across a decent receiver in man coverage ever again.

Beavers didnt field a punt at like the 30 yard line and then muffed another. He basically got cut last night

agree with most else. Though Al Woods was getting blown off the ball every play

i'd have to agree. Woods was pretty much getting handled last night.

I'm convinced he should look HERE for some pre-game inspiration next time.

Watching some of the game again, McCray looked horrible out there. He did nothing whatsoever. He gets coverage sacks, and that's about it. He's not fast enough, or strong enough.

I would love to see what Hargrove could do out there, seeing what he does on the inside.

Hargrove gets credit in my book for the only "Superman" tackle last night lol.

Casillas had 10 tackles and a sack. He was everywhere. I think he is well on his way to being a starter.

You need to add pass defense to "Didn't Like"

Daniel is just too small for this league

He was strong enough to drag Green-Ellis down by the face mask.

After watching the Cardinals/Texans... I think the Saints could have definitely used more Daryl Washington in the draft.

Jonathan Casillas and D.Washington are basically of the same mold. While D. Washington may turn out to be a hell of a player, JC has very similar potential.

It especially doesn't look good when your head coach predicts that an opposing QB is going to go after you. And he does. For a touchdown. In the Super Bowl.

I was happy when he got cut, and disappointed when he was resigned. He's great a getting flagged for personal fouls. Some guys are good players and get a little too aggressive sometimes and commit penalties. But McCray is just a dirty-playing, no-talent douche bag.

If Arrington can stay healthy he could be a solid contributor to this team.

Kick coverage needs work on all levels, but besides that it's too early to give any strict criticism

That doesn't mean I wouldn't mind having both.

(In which case I'd have Casillas in on "obvious run" and Washington in on "obvious pass" situationally )
