According to his high school coach Bobby Reyes, Lee loves college football and wants to play at LSU. Lee said splitting time between the Dodgers and LSU is not an option and admits it would be hard to walk away from a chance to play football.

I havent followed this, so it may have been answered. But why would he not just want to play for LSU baseball and football ala Chad Jones?

Maybe it is all the negativity but I feel like we are going to be disappointed

Chad Jones is a good example of why he should not stay and take the $$ now. Who knows what tomorrow holds.

Chad Jones just got an $800k + signing bonus. that is likely a lot more than he would have gotten signing to play in the minors out of HS. pretty idiotic statement

I don't know what's going to happen, but Lee IS a first round draft pick, and ... I ain't buying that the Dodgers are broke because of McCourt and his fricking divorce. The Dodgers regularly pony up $$$$$$ for the likes of Ramirez, Brad Penny, Jason Schmidt, Darren Dreifort and on and on and on. They don't have to scrounge under the couch for money.

So far, signs are good that Lee is going to end up at LSU. But it's hardly a done deal.

The CJ thing wasn't an on the field injury so it is irrelevant. He could have had that car wreck if he went straight to the MLB out of high school. Him going to LSU had no negative affect on his playing career so yes it is an idiotic statement.

Anyone friends with any of the Golden Girls?

Ask them if any of them are interested in helping Tiger Nation out and contributing to Zach Lee staying by "be-friending him?

Oh, and it would help if they showed up to his dorm room dressed for the part and in 2s and 3s.

Thanks.

i suprisingly disagree with this... just read an article in espn the mag about the mccourts and the dodgers and it's a damn mess out there. i highly doubt they are willing to pay what the kid is demanding. if z. lee crumbles and decides to take maybe 1.5 mil then i could see him going but based upon all reports his asking price is much higher than that...

You've given new meaning to the phrase "Take one for the team."

so what exactly was the slot pay for 13th round picks in 2007? even if you factor in that Chad's draft status dropped due to the fact that he was committed to LSU in football, he still wouldn't have gotten late first round money had he signed with the Stro's. his money career was clearly football. it gave him the chance to make more money than he ever would in baseball

The one thing that worries me about this whole Zach Lee thing is the fact that the Dodgers traded for Terry Lilly and Ryan Theriot. I doesnt sound relevent and it might not be but the whole \"the dodgers owner going through a divorce\" thing now seems less of an issue because they still appear to be interested in winning and I have to think that if signing Lee is in the best interest of the Dodgers it will get done.

If I was Lee\'s agent/advisor I would suggest he approach the Summer as if he is going to school just in case also it gives his agent/advisor more fire power to get more money.

The Dodgers will have to pay to sign him, but I just have trouble thinking Lee is locked on coming to LSU. Its definitely not in the bag yet.

anyone who expects the guy to sign with a team that hasn't contacted him since the draft is possibly retarded
