VHF marine radio problem

My VHF transmits without a problem, but does not recieve. Speakers work, as does squelch, but nothing can be heard.
Anyone ever dealt with this?

Is it a battery powered mic? Even if it is not,you might have a mic problem. See if you can use a friends that you know works.

Check your coax connections, are easy to get a short.

is yours hand held (walkie-talkie) or mounted?

Its mounted in the boat, the coax connects to a spliter that shares the antenna between my FM/AM and vhf. The stero picks up fine.
I did try to connect the antenna straight to the vhf, but had the same result.
And, no I am not catching the weather channel.

Sounds like its finished. What make radio and antenna? I'm not a fan on using a splitter. get yourself a AM/Fm tape antenna. You can mount that under your console easy. Less connections are a lot better when it comes to this.
