Movie/tv/music board: entertainment board

Can we make this happen?
Just add music as an acceptable label for that board and call it the entertainment board.
That's it. It would be even better than it already is, and you could have most of the music posts from the ot on there.

bad idea, imo. IF they are going to do anything with music I say give it it's own board. no used flooding the already awesome Movie/TV Board with the kind of BS that would permeate a music board. there would be way more posting that reading going on. people don't want to read about others' musical interests, they just want to post their own.
and i don't know how many Beatles vs. Stones threads I could take..

I think what would be cool
About a music board would be the discussion of artists and albums of course,
But also connecting musicians together to discuss theory, talk about shows, and connect with people in other cities about popular music in that area.

To strengthen my stance of a Music board (we've been discussing it all morning on the M/TV board), I'm honoring Lady Gaga in my Avatar.
Music has a strong place here. Let's let look at some points.
1) Out of all the ideas we entertain with their own board, music is more widespread. More people hear music of some kind that go to the movies, than watch TV, than care about money or politics, than play video games. I think it could potentially surpass the popularity of most boards here.
2) It could be used for a variety of things that shouldn't clog up the Movie/TV Board. From Mozart to Metallica to that little white guy M&M, there would be something for everyone. Threads about artists, songs, albums, concerts, historical threads, "do you remember...", "best of...", music theory (as previously mentioned), orchestras, marching bands, etc.
3) Why? Because we care.
By looking at my post count you can see I don't post very much. I have, however, been reading this site almost daily since 2006. My post count would likely be much higher with a music thread, and I think that could apply to other people as well. Most of us are on this board to begin with because we love LSU, which is located in possibly the most musically rich and diverse state in the country. Music deserves its place here.

it is not a mockery of dan, but rather a compliment and an effort to fuse both brands of entertainment into one harmonious board and if you can't see that then you can GFY.
