This year will be my first football season with a DVR. I was wondering if I needed to set the DVR to record longer than the games are alotted. Anyone that has experience with this please enlighten me. Thanks in advance.

Yeah I set it up for about 5 minutes before (sometimes certain games have cool intros) and for an hour after.

On a side note if you are going to be recording football games in high def, they can really eat up a huge chunk of DVR space. from I have discovered it is about 80 hours of regular programming, and somewhere between 30-40 hours if all you record is high def.
