Jason Whitlock has this gem on his twitter feed today:

"There's a street theory that LSU players flop n NFL bcuz of L Syrup U... "

Does anyone with any inside knowledge of the program know if this has any grain of truth or is he just blowing smoke again?

The cops are gonna feel like assholes when they find out that all JaMarcus Russell had was pancake syrup.

It isn't that hard to believe if a lot of the guys do drink the syrup. Hell, I have. But I am from Houston too. And you'd be surprised how easy it was to get from the student health center

It's not hard to believe young impressionable men are being corrupted by drugs in an elite college football program. Not at all. These are young men we are talking about here. Is it true? Not unless you have several pieces of incontrovertible evidence to back up such a claim.

Now...can I see it happening? Yes. I lived in Baton Rouge 21 years, don't let the Gulf Breeze location fool you People talk, who cares. Kinda funny though, makes you wonder what people say about LSU on the slick.

yes I know for a fact it was prevelant in the 4 years I was there up until 2006. My friend and "street pharmicist" sold a lot of it to extremely large people who didnt like me being present when they rang the doorbell. Believe me or not I dont really care.

What's funny is how many people are steadily drinking this stuff day by day as a buzz. And it is a GOOD buzz. Nonetheless, it is illegal. JR must just be too stupid to get not get caught. TONS of NFL'ers are drinking this a plenty.

So how would this cause them to bust in the NFL?

Well, it's not exactly as if an existing addiction to hydrocodone, codeine, or any of the other "syrup" active ingredients is a desirable trait to have.

This says more about Jason Whitlock than anything else. What an imbecile.

Well of course not, but if they were able to do it and still be an elite collegiate athlete, I don't see how they would all of the sudden lose their talent once they got to the NFL.
