is a documentary about the Doors. It was released this Tuesday on dvd. It mainly includes original footage and is narrated by Johnny Depp.
I thought it did an excellent job of mixing the story with the music.

This is the one shown on PBS? It was pretty good.
(There's also very good documentary about the making of the first Doors album. Definitely worth tracking down if you're a Doors fan. From a BBC series I think -- other good episodes include Lou Reed's Transformer and Hendrix's Electric Ladyland)
Now if they'd only make a similar documentary about The Byrds...

Yes, I believe it was part of their American Masters series.
