What did you think of the first day? IMO, neither game was very exciting. The thing that made the SA-Mexico game better was that we have all been waiting four years.

I'd say the Mexico-SA was pretty exciting. There was a lot of pressure and good chances in the last 30 minutes. The last game was just pure garbage.

Final verdict is in..... Dude was definitely offside. Case closed. Anyone who has ever played, knows the rules or has been watching ESPN today knows this.

I thought all the officials (ARs and Head Refs) today, in both games, did a really good job. Hopefully, it continues throughout the tournament.

Not if they only watched the first game, and none of the highlights/post-game analysis.

Ribery's card was unmerited. That card completely changed the pace of the game. That's also been a handball all year in Ligue 1 at the end of the match.

They kind of said it in passing, and didn't really explain why (as opposed to the color commentator, who went on and on for five minutes about it). Plus, if people got up at the half to go to the bathroom/get some food/actually do work, they didn't even hear it.

Disagree.

Well this isn't Ligue 1, and that wasn't a handball.
