Finally got to see it(3 years late) and thought it was great. Of course I'm also a fan of Joy Division and the music of that time. Sam Riley pulled off a pretty good performance of Ian Curtis with his dance moves and all.
The director did a great job setting the mood of Ian Curtis' story. Maybe that comes from all of his works with other musicians and videos, but it turned out well.
I think you'd have to be somewhat of a fan to appreciate it though. I like it better than 24 Hour Party people even though they're two different stories really.

I think you'd like it if not just for the history of the music.
I don't have netflix. I just finally got it from a buddy who has it though.
