Too many people seem to think that perfection can be achieved all the time, which is ludicrous. Just look around and see what person or team is that good all the time!
Other people seem to think that by changing one thing, everything else will miraculously fall into place. I would contend that there are numerous things that have to occur for a team to play as well as so many people want it to. It seems like there are four major areas, each with factors that affect a team’s performance.

Coaching – leadership, ability, knowledge, innovation, intangibles

Players – skills/ability, leadership, motivation/desire, intangibles

Environment – crowd, weather, officiating

Luck – injuries, dropped/intercepted passes, fumbles

All of these have to come together for that season that everyone wants to have.

Good call superd - I'm adding that to environment.
