yall play on XBC ( Xbox Connect)?
I used to play halo 1 on it waaaaaay back in the day and just started playing on it again. If you've never heard of it it's basically like xbox live but it doesn't cost anything, also it goes off of your host or the host game you join, not dedicated servers. Only down side now is that since XBL there aren't that many people playing anymore, but still enough for more popular games.

One of my old roommates used to do this back before Live really took off. Can't say I've messed with it since.
Might see a bit more usage since Live dropped it's support for original xbox titles. I'm sure there are some hardcore Halo 2 players looking to still get their fix, if nothing else.
