Former Rebel DL Kendrick Clancy stopped by practice. He says he is announcing his retirement from the NFL after 10 years in the league. Clancy said he's planning to return to Oxford and finish his degree and get into coaching. Clancy is married and the father of five children.

mini bummer, hoped we could squeeze a few more downs out of him. A big bodied stuffer becomes more imperative.

This. Best of luck Kendrick. Respect that fact that he is going to finish his degree. Hope it all goes well for him. Retire with the ring!

I certainly expected this to happen and said so in other threads. Clancy was the starter at the beginning of the season and got injured. When he came back, he not only could not beat out Ayodele, he was a healthy inactive for a couple games. He then got put on IR for something minor. I don't know what it was, but either there were lingering effects from his injury that kept him from being effective, or he just gave up when he got hurt and got fat. Whichever it was, there was no way that the Saints were bringing him back this year.

Well, shite.
Now our first three picks have to be DE, DT, or OLB in no particular order.
Whichever best available pass-rusher at those three positions will get picked first.
