do our defensive tackles need to be in order to be successful run stoppers? (physical stats)

I'm curious as to what the fellow saintstalk people believe should be the right size.

around 310 pounds. you dont want a player to be too tall either. being short is not a bad attribute for a DT.

so any less than 310 would be considered too small?

I realize what the average size of an NFL DT is, just wanted to know if we aim for anything like they offer fast food meals...regular, large, or extra large.

Saints have had a lot of short, squattish 300 pounders, that's their problem, they get easily pushed around by bigger OLineman, and Hargrove though not short is more of a DE/DT hybrid very capable of collapsing the pocket, but not good against the run. The Saints have been in need of a big 6'4" or 6'5" 340 pound spaceater, run stuffer for a longtime. Someone on the Shaun Rogers mold. Getting Cody in a later round wouldn't be a bad deal for them.
