Once again PM comes out and tells Delatte third is now yours. He blew smoke up his arse about not looking over youur shoulder. After 4 games and getting 2 hits he's now on the bench.PM needs to stop making promise's and just tell the guys if you hit you play if yoiu don't you sit.

He was obviously trying to build the guys confidence. Sometimes that doesn't work and you have to let them come sit by him for a while and see if that works better

He didn't tell him that 3B was his for the entire season.

why hasnt dozar gotten a shot at playing third? do we need another move like happened last year with lemahieu and nola?

delatte f'ing blows at the plate. hasnt gotten good contact on a ball more than once i can remember.

and didier looks too hesitant throwing a ball.

ok, would you rather cws titles or staying loyal to one guy even if he doesn't produce? mainieri said it was his for the time being, not forever fwiw

he smoked a ball about 400 ft foul in one of the arkansas games last weekend (or could have been against nicholls st), but seriously no one we have put out there at 3rd has produced for shite. it's really the only big hole in our lineup

I'm with you I think Dozar stick is much better than the others but he needs a fair chance at third that mean 4 or 5 games.

You cannot use the same motivation techniques for every player. I trust Mainieri knows these guys a little better than us and knows a thing or two about getting his guys motivated.

Maybe Mainieri is concerned about Dozar, his backup catcher, getting hurt. But, that being said, he did pl;ay Ochinko, his backup catcher last year.

I really like PM but the pressure he puts on these guys by telling them its there spot is like the little boy that cryed wolf,it gets old and the trust is gone

He started there one game and made 2 throwing errors. I think he should get another shot.

I hear ya. I don't think he necessarily subscribes to it either. As I mentioned the Ochinko situation. Maybe Delatte is the best player without rocking the boat too much (i.e. major switch like last year). Maybe he feels he can hide him in the lineup.

to be fair he rip his nail off in warmups he wrap it in tape.He didn't say anything because it was his first start and he thought he could throw with it.

You don't need to convince me. I was serious when I said he deserved another shot. He can hit and I think he'd be a good defensive 3B.

nola batted .230 last year, but played a clean short for us.

delatte is the best decision maker and athlete at 3rd, you'll see him most of the year. also has a very strong arm and will, in time, be a very good hitter for the tigers.
