This Story Would Make A Great Movie

what would the plot be? Ok, his two sons are killed so he takes up arms agains the Union. He kills a bunch and the movie ends....when? When the south loses?

I hope you're not thinking of some cheesy revenge story where he hunts down the specific killers. It's been a while since I've seen The Patriot, but isn't that a similar plot?


Also, you're dreaming if you think they'd make a movie where a confederate is the movie's protagonist against the union.

It's not fiction for one thing and he tried to stay neutral for another. Revenge plots have been done before and will continue to be done but at least this one actually happened. Also, it appears that while both of his sons were of age, they weren't fighting for the South.

The movie would probably end with his death nine years after the war is over having never been caught by the Union.

I'm going to read up more on his story though.
