The coach that apparently broke him down and swayed him to UT. Here is a clip of Hunter in his own words; his reasoning, followed by a few comments from his coach.

Hunter Comments

What's done is done, now let's move forward from here. We'll see him on the field, where he will be Tiger Bait.

I really wish we would have PP when we were going to be up against this guy.

I'm sure LSU will have someone if PP goes Pro.

I just can't put "only" in front of "8 hour drive".

Does anyone think he is too skinny? the fact that he wanted to play football and run track doesnt fit me. I have a friend in high school (who plays football and #1-2 runner in the country) but he didnt even get a scholarship from LSU.

If he plays early, he will only be used as a deep threat and in red zone situations -throw the ball up in the corner of the end zone and let him out jump the smaller corners for it.

He will not venture in the middle of the field.

Way too skinny. He'll need to redshirt for sure to get bigger, but with the track stuff, I don't think they'll allow him to get too big.

This guy seems like Xavier Carter part 2. I think his future is track, but he has all the tools to be a great WR.

Can't wait to see Loston de-cleat him.

Yes. And if he's as serious about track as he purports to be he'll never get all that big.....

I dont think he'll be a football player at UT....like i said earlier, my friend was the top 1-2 track runner in the country and had the physical skills to be a WR in college (he was in JROTC) but track was his thing

And I guarantee you that Les Miles does not want his wrs running track. Trindon as a limited role player it was okay, but Les does not want to continue having two-sport players on his football team.

I knew we could somehow get to "we didn't want him anyway."

Oh we wanted him. I still want to see him play wr at LSU. But I'm just saying that football coaches in general are not 'okay' with their players playing two sports. But it can sometimes be used as a recruiting tool for other schools, in this case I think Tennessee.

Hey, good for him. I totally understand the 8 hour versus 16 difference.

Wish him the best of luck.

Who is Hunter?

We are LSU and we didn't want him anyway unless we wanted him.

lets' hope so...the kid made his choice because of logistics. we didn't do anything wrong and at least he had the integrity to inform us of his intentions with some time left to replace him. after this weekend the point may well be mute.

I would have loved to have this kid...he seems very well spoken for a young man with alot of pressure. I also like two sport stars (i.e. trindon, chad, jared mitchell) keeps this keeps motivated and out of trouble during the offseason...

You can't fault him for going somewhere closer to home which to me seems to be the case, it can't be because the track program is better...obviously it is not

good riddens...wish him luck...

yeah he has a lot of integrity for breaking his word? I used to hear the phrase "A man's word is his bond". I hate liars. Now a days it is okay to break your word because you are 8 hours closer to home? I don't think so. What a waste of LSU's time.

I agree but don't know that you can expect a kid to keep his word when seemingly most coaches dont.
