Les Miles watched nemesis Nick Saban and Alabama win the national championship Thursday night over Texas, and it reminded him of what might have been for his 2009 Tigers.

"What it tells me is how close we were," Miles said of Alabama's 37-21 win

"Can you imagine that? Look how close we were," Miles said

Cold Hard Facts 9-3 this regular season with a
1. 24-15 loss at No. 1 Alabama
2. 13-3 loss at home to then-No. 1 Florida
3. 25-23 loss at Ole Miss on Nov. 21 when the Tigers were in position to win before poor clock and sideline management doomed them.

Wow Those were Really Close les.

TCU - Undefeated
Florida - Loss only one game (SEC Championship)
Boise St. - Undefeated
Now They can say they were CLOSE !!

This dude is in LaLa Land.

Actually, he is correct....

Now, for the rest of the story, we were close to losing a number of games we won this year. He just didn't want to add that tidbit.

This is going to be a LONG offseason if everyone decides to start their own thread with their own interpretaion of everything Miles says for the next 9 months.

it's going to be a LONG offseason regardless... Miles could be mute for the entire time and it wouldn't matter... people are going to talk, they are going to analyze, they are going to bitch, moan, groan, and complain... that's life

we must have a fundemental difference in what we believe is considered close.

B/c IMO every loss was close game.

Les is letting us take a break. He's started taking up his own slack the last few days.

Does what he said really piss you off that much? Seriously? I know bashing Miles is the cool thing to do right now but try not to overreact too much.
