Just got back. Our high school championship games are put on better than this bowl game was this year.

Atmosphere horrible. Crappy stadium.

Whoever wants Captiol One over Cotton needs to re think.

I was watching some of the Ole Miss game, wishing we would have played in Jerrypallooza stadium.

I could have gone to the game. Playing on turf...seeing the Tigers shine. Pretty good viewing audience.

Instead, we had to watch the Tigers on a field that would make the Saints look slow.

Disregard the field, if you can. They didn't do anything that they normally don't do for that field...they play HS games, re-sod, then play 2 bowl games. If they get good enough weather for the grass to grow, or better yet, replace the field with field turf, as they say they will; would you still prefer Dallas to Orlando?

The prestige of the Cap One is better than the Cotton (not historical prestige, obviously, but current-day), but that might be it.

I'd agree from a visitor point of view. ATL and Dallas are both better then Orlando as a tourist unless you like Disney World in the offseason.

Nah, it will be the same as now (assuming they keep the two team per conference rule).

No.

The Citrus Bowl is pretty prestigious. It won't fall that far.

Cotton was one of the big four, back in the days of the old SWC. With the creation of JerryWorld, I could see the Cotton being a BCS bowl again.

It once was up with the Sugar, Rose and Orange. The Fiesta took over for the Cotton.

We parked our motor homes at the stadium and, WOW, we were in the middle of the slum. We had peolple coming up to us all day and night asking for booze and $$. On new years eve at midnight, we heard some fire works but a lot of what we heard was gun fire. We had a good time but I want ever go to the Citrus Stadium again.

The Cotton bowl is now played in a better stadium. The Capitol One bowl is a better bowl as far as prestige. Playing Penn State is a better draw any day than playing Oklahoma State.

Don't underestimate the appeal of Disneyworld and Universal Studies and the warmer weather in Orlando compared to Dallas and Atlanta.

I think as long as the big ten is happy with Capital One it'll do okay. For people from big ten states, The Rose Bowl will always be number one and the weather is better in LA and there's Disneyland and other attractions like Hollywood and Magic Mountain. To big ten people a good bowl has to have great weather and famous well-known tourist attractions. It's a bigger deal for Northerners to go to a warm place like Orlando and Pasadena and do the let's get out of the winter thing and wear shorts in January. You can't always do that in Dallas and Atlanta and no one in the big ten states equates Dallas and Atlanta as being as good tourist places as Los Angelas and Orlando.

I know that we'll never go to the Cap One again. I now see why tickets were so readily available. The Cotton should get first pick of the SEC after the BCS. The Citrus Bowl stadium itself is ok, but the field was obviously substandard. How is any team with speed supposed to perform on that surface?

The next issue is the area it's in. "Slum" is the proper word. We were approached twice by guys running a hidden ball gambling scam. Some poor LSU fan lost over $100 to them. He should have known better, but still.

Finally, since there were three bowl games on the same day in Florida, the traffic going North the next day was horrendous. Fans from Northwestern, Penn State and WVU were clogging the roadways.

Not for long. The Shitrus Bowl is the worst bowl stadium in the U.S. although they did clean upthe hunks of concrete that came loose and almost killed some people a couple years ago.
