One could see at times during the year that Chavis was disgusted at all the three and outs, lack of time-consuming drives and loss of field position due to sacks and other losses. So, is it possible that his interest in looking elsewhere is related to it becoming more and more apparent that Crowton and his unidentified offense, along with our OL coach, another major contributor to our three and outs, are returning? It is interesting that the Chavis is leaving rumors have really heated up coincedent with the Crowton is staying rumors. Would he have been less likely with some hope that next year's offense would be able to take some pressure off his defense. Just some food for thought.

That wasn't aimed at Crowton, he thought the opponent's DC was showing him up.

To leave just because the offensive production isn't what everyone would like? Comes with the territory if you have a young QB, poor RB play, or poor O-line play - all of which can happen in any 3-5 year stretch in college football anywhere.

Don't think Chavis is that big of a pussy.

I think Chavis just wants to get closer to home.
At least the defense was prepared this year and the secondary and linebackers were in position to make plays. With that said, the scheme was very vanilla and offenses were not confused with the blitz schemes. Similar to his Tenn defenses.

If LSU wants to contend in the West going forward the defense and offense has to get better and Miles as head coach needs to decide what he wants to do and get on board with both coordinators to prevent this second guessing during games.

Our defense was better than last year but with all of our supposed "talent", I wasnt overly impressed with Chavis.

That's interesting.

Do you think our DL was overly talented?
Would you say that our LB core was immensely improved over last year due to Chavis?
