That is a far cry from top 10 like we had under Bo and Muschamp. I give Bo much respect now Nebraska is number 9 in total D.

What was Nebraska last year? Also remember he is coaching in the Big 12, not the SEC. Let's give Chavis his second year.

Try thinking before posting. It will do everyone some good.

So you think we had a great defense this year?

We had a good defense - do you think Pelini had to contend with a worse offense than we had statistically?

It is illogical to compare one D's statistics with another without realizing all the factors that go into making those numbers.

for.e.g. our kickoff returns were quite bad - but guess what? our average starting position was great - the numbers were bad because the kickers were kicking it away and would rather lose field position than kick it to our returners.

Chavis D was good. They were solid when they needed to be.

I guess you were attempting to respond to someone else. Fail. Very weak use of emoticons BTW.

Not a great one but a perfectly fine one. Much better than last year anyway. LSU's troubles this year lay elsewhere.

And they were few - a 9-3 season with two of the losses are to the top two teams is pretty f'ing good. And anyone who thinks that sucks should remember that Urban Meyer went 9-3 a couple of years ago and lost his bowl game too, it isn't like the End Times are here.

We improved from #9 to #6 in total defense but the yards allowed per game was almost the same. The scoring defense was better however, which I guess gives credence to Chavis' "bend but don't break" philosophy.
