Great chance to get to Omaha, will be tough to beat Texas and Rice - Texas is loaded with pitching, Rice is loaded with offense.

LSU has some roles to develop that will determine how far they go and some pretty good starters to replace.

If we do this and have a couple bats step up, we should be back in Omaha. Its Leon Landry's time to step up and contribute the entire season.

Still have key role players on the roster with a core of:

Mikie Mahtook
Blake Dean
Austin Nola
Leon Landry
Tyler Hanover
Micah Gibbs
Anthony Ranaudo
Matty Ott

I think if this team stays focused, there is no question they get back to Omaha.

Winning the CWS back to back would be unbelievably hard so I think there will have to be a few underclassman pitchers step up along with filling a few holes.

Team has alot of potential. That being said,

if schimpf, ochinko, mitchell, and lemahieu had come back I think we'd be a no brainer lock for Omaha

It's crazy that we lose 4 big time players early to the draft, yet still have a good chance of getting back

That to me is the only holdup with a possible repeat...

There are too many unknowns in the pitching staff to be so convinced LSU will return to Omaha. For that to happen, pitchers who have yet to step up previously will have to do so.

I believe we can get back, winning is gonna be tough, hell getting there will be tough. Hard to get back to that level when you lose guys like Schimpf, Lemahieu, and Coleman

The loss of Coleman will hurt the most. I don't think there is anyone on the pitching staff that will come close to replacing him. You need at least two big time aces to win the CWS and we don't have that unless someone really steps up.
