For all the haters, it is because of 1) a hornets game the same night and 2) a cardiologist convention the same weekend. ETA: Per the T-P.

3) No way in hell is Vegas letting this fight get away.

FWIW, T-P stated NOLA will take a shot at the rematch in the Fall of 2010...

Of course, Vegas will get that, too.

But the good news is that we may be positioned for a shot at the rematch.

I didn't say anything about them being in the dome.

Why did they even pretend it wasn't going to be in Vegas?

Probably just to try and drum up some more hype. When was the last time a big fight wasn't in Vegas? 20 years ago?

they really didn't. This buzz really seems to be more out of NOLA and a few isolated outlets. Their has been virtually no buzz out here on the west coast of the fight being anywhere but Vegas, and even when the Staples Center bid of $20M was mentioned it was in passing as Vegas was viewed as a foregone conclusion. I never heard NOLA mentioned out here.
