Cornerback is one of the more difficult positions to give awards. The guys with the best #'s are usually not the best players. The best players don't get thrown at.
I haven't seen the list, but I would bet the guys who made it ahead of PP had more interceptions.

Either way numbers wise, probably both have better numbers than Peterson and that is why they were 1st team. Peterson is just developing his reputation as a shut-down corner.
He will be Pre-season 1st team next year and make first team. Then IF he stays for senior season it should happen again.
No real shame on being 2nd team either though

It is a joke no matter the excuses. PP shut everyone down he faced and QB's did not throw his way often. I can't wait to see him next year

Well everyone is a stretch but he was the best cover corner at LSU and I would say Top 3 in nation as a Sophomore. He had a few break downs but that was mainly youth, pure talent dude is a beast.

Arkansas game is an exception.
The two guys they chose are no slouches. I agree that PP is the better cover corner, but it is not as laughable as everyone on this thread is making it out to be.

Arenas is 1st team as much for overall reputation rather than corner cover skills IMHO. PP did not have the Int.'s because he was not thrown at. Best example of a shut down corner seen here in several years.
