Saints Redskins
Penalties - Yards 7-102 2-15

Refs are not calling the games properly, how can this be?

I was pissed at all the penalties. Maybe it was just them not getting penalties, or us getting a lot-but when it's that lopsided you wonder a little bit.

They balanced it out with a couple of favorable reviews IMO.

Favorable? How'd you think they should go? The reviews were done correctly.

Here's some numbers on our opponents the last couple weeks and their games around ours:

TB:
5 for 50
8 for 52
3 for 18 *
9 for 77

NE:
6 for 82
0 for 0 *
5 for 28
3 for 35

WAS: 2 for 15 *
7 for 39
5 for 27
4 for 45

Teams have had their best games against us, penalty wise, conveniently for the past couple of weeks.

I haven't looked at the full stats of the season, but I have a feeling as "16 - 0" started getting more talk, the penalties steadily got lower and lower. At some point it becomes less theory and more "what the frick is going on here?"

eta: * is against us.

The members of the 1972 Miami Dolphins have verrrrrry deep pockets.

That fumble could have been inconclusive...

Now having said that... if they would have called it a fumble on the field like the eventually did after review, it would have gone for a defensive TD for McAlister.

Perhaps. But the Colts are receiving the exact opposite treatment. 130 yards in penalties against the Texans last week. Why only us? Is this the NFL equivalent of Kobe treatment? Colts have been around more, so they get the calls?

In the past, the Colts have "let their foot off the accelerator" when they have clinched home field for the playoffs, even when they're undefeated. So they rest their starters and that's when they lose. So the Dolphins aren't really concerned about the Colts.
