It would have been 03 Evangel, but JDB left early.

98 West Monroe
99 Evangel
00 West Monroe
02 Evangel
90 Ruston

All could beat the rest on any given day. Too close to call.

1985 Meridian, Ms. Wildcars.

National Player of the year- Demetrius Hill

Defense scored more points than they let up.

32 college players, 3 NFL

85 State Champs

Their are several South Panola teams that are awesome. They won like 7 titles in a row until Meridian beat them last year.

99 Evangel or 98 WM, unbelievable teams. 99 5-A final may be the best High School game I have ever seen.

Franklinton 2009 has the state single season scoring record all time for any classification with yet another game to play. I know it is a big if, but if we get by Neville I feel we should be getting mentioned with these other teams.

Varnado 13
Franklinton 59

Bogalusa 0
Franklinton 54

Franklinton 62
Riverdale 0

East Jefferson 6
Franklinton 58

Pearl River 0
Franklinton 48

Franklinton 20
Salmen 14

Walker 14
Franklinton 45

Regular season
Average Score 49.5
opponant 8

Playoffs

Franklinton 57
St. Micheals 13

Franklinton 58
Bastrap 28

Franklinton 35

I'd have to say the 1990 Ruston team. Roymon Malcom was a beast at running back.

99 evangel was sick...

It's funny to watch recent evangel teams, who are VERY good, and compare them to evangel of the mid-late 90's.

Those teams would beat recent evangel squads by 40 points, which Is saying alot.

They looked like a college team out there

Best team I can remember seeing and playing against was the 1994 Amite Warriors. 3 Pro players and a heap of college players.

I remember going to the State semi's in 98 and watching Catholic, who had a great team that year, get blown out by West Monroe. Then the following year(1999), Catholic played in the State semi's against Evangel in one of the most exciting games I have ever seen. West Monroe outmatched our boys at every level. The size and speed that the Rebs brought was staggering. Evangel was incredible at running routes and timing the offense. They executed every play perfectly on all three dimensions. But, my vote for #1 would be West Monroe, and then #2 would be Evangel.

That CHS v. Evangel game at Olympia was crazy. It was like Evangel was toying with the bears. WM at Memorial the previous year was just an arse kicking.

Guys saying 2008 south plaq are ridiculous...

They were a good team, but they weren't even top 3 in the state last year alone.

Destrehan, wm, and JC would all have beaten them last year. Maybe even belle chasse

And so far as 1a teams are concerned, they werent the best 1A team I've ever seen either. Though probably close. But certainly not the best high school team ever
