I was in Baton Rouge two weeks ago for the Tulane game having lunch at Atcha Bakery & Cafe and my buddy shared a story with me about his awakening on Sunday morning he had earlier this year. He was having breakfast at another local establishment, after a night of maybe a few alcoholic beverages, ranting and raving. He was complaining about offensive play calling, the line blocking, or lack of, the running game, why RS isn't getting the ball more. Just spewing verbal rants at his table guests. After about 10 minutes of non-stop jabbering and just throwing the gauntlet at the offense and their coaches a man stood up from the table just next to him and said, "Hey, enough is enough. I'm trying to have breakfast with my family!" As "The Chief", John Chavis sat back down to his meal, my buddies' table got pretty quiet for the rest of the meal. The moral of this story is the lesson learned has kept my friends mouth shut about "our" LSU Tigers. He got it out of his system and is living for the future. A lesson some of you posters should get a grip on. Learn from the past, live in the present, hope for the future!

wtf? Why wasn't Chavis game planning for the next game?

He should NOT be out having breakfast with the family during the season he should be working on the O.

The lesson here is:

Restrain your ego.

You have not mastered your OWN job, let alone Les and Crowton's.

Be charitable in your assesments of others, evaluate the TOTALITY of the results, consider the reality of the alternatives, and resume eating your oyster po-boy.

+1. What kind of lame crap is this ? Miles has gotten soft. Saban doesn't let his coaches go home from August through April, after Spring Training.

The correct response was..

"Coach, great job so far this season. I know you are used to mediocrity but this ain't Knoxville. You have a lovely family. Hope you enjoy your breakfast."

I wonder if Crowton would have stood up and defended his offense. Easy for Chavis to stand up and represent, his defense is great.

Not really a bad arse...if the story is true...a guy is at breakfast with his buddies..he is commenting to his friends about the game last night. Assuming he isn't dropping F bombs and being disruptive. Then after 10 minutes, Chavis stands up and says that's enough.

Who the hell is he? I can't imagine being out with friends and some random person tells me that is enough without me telling them politely to frick off and mind their own business.

That being said, the whole story sounds like BS.

You really needed to work in a love scene angle to make it more interesting to women.

The Chief also said, "The boys are trying real hard." Don't know if he meant the coaches or the players. My buddy said that The Chief shook his hand and was very polite and professional. Didn't act like he appeared to be...
