anyone have the turtle beach headset for xbox??

i have the wireless set but yesterday the mic went out. the piece that connects the controller and the headset apparently went out. after looking around on the internet i found you can repalce that piece for $5 
just a heads up becuase it will probably go out on you.

I love that headset. Dont have the wireless. It makes the whole game experience so much better

I thought about getting this headset. Do you only hear the sound through the head phones or does the tv still have sound coming out of it?
I need something that will allow me to mute the tv but here the sound through the headphones. We only have one tv in the house and I can only play at night but would like to turn it up.
