in New Orleans East? This was a fabulous restaurant in the late 70's and 80's. One of my favorite places to dine back when I still lived in New Orleans.

Anyway, the owner and chef, Gerard Crozier, died this past week. If you ate there more than once you probably met him, as well as his wife who functioned as the maitre d'. It was a small restaurant and he often came out to chat with guests.

He left the city after Katrina and moved to the Smoky Mountains. Sorry to see his passing.

The tournedos of beef they prepared was one of the best dishes I've ever had at a restaurant.

I remember reading about that. I think it was a steakhouse, something like "The Chateaubriand."

He originally had Crozier's in the east. He then moved that restaurant to Metairie (west esplande). That space later became the french table. Crozier then open chateaubriand on carrollton in new orleans. It was opened until katrina.
