I am older than Charles Alexander

In fact, I went to school with the other Charles Alexander (Alexander the Great), running back in the seventies.
Hearing that Charles Alexander (the younger) make a reference to the 2004 loss to Georgia made me think of my trip there with friends. We had a great time till after the game, when we were trying to leave the stadium and were treated with physical and verbal assaults. Caps were stolen and burnt and we were outnumbered.
To those who went this year, how was the reception as you left the stadium?

Humble may be the word? This doesn't surprise me. Before the game in 2004, they were really nice to hang around.

Did you go to LSU and when? You must be around my age.
By the way. Craig Nettles' son plays baseball on the Somerset Patriots. We saw them twice this year.
Nettles was always my wife's favorite.

I was there from 1973 to 1980 (includes law school).
Graigg Nettles was my Yankee hero in the seventies. I was wondering where he was these days.

I was there from 1973 through 1979.
I lived 73 Hatcher, 74 and 75 Kirby and the next three years on Asyter Street. Majored in Poli Sci. Had semi long hair and a beard (black then) Big mouth, representing the Jewish student ckub at Free Speech Alley.
You were there during the streaking days then.

The Streaking days. I need to write a story about that.
Know Mike R?
I majored in History and took some Poly Sci.

Man, I loved free speech alley. Ted Schirmer is still a student.

Nah, nothing like that. That being said, we hung around down by the band till Les and the players came over to sing the alma mater, so most of the red had cleared out by then. Afterwards, the only thing was that a state trooper told us to "move along" as we waited around for a friend to leave the restrooms. And a GOB (Good Ole Boy) in a pickup truck tried to yell out "overrated" to us as we crossed in the crosswalk in front of him (which we found amusing seeing as we'd just beaten them) but no caps got burned, no car flags snapped off, no eggs thrown or anything of that nature.
During the game, we were treated to one redneck UGA couple who at some point trotted out a baggie of dog biscuits and acted like they were going to offer them to LSU fans (though DOGS eat dog biscuits, not tigers? Should have been US bringing dog biscuits? I didn't get it). I yelled out, "Hey, you aren't supposed to bring your own snacks into a football stadium!" and they got put up.
But in general they were okay. In fact, we were seated next to an older UGA lady who had a walking cast/boot on her leg and therefore couldn't stand up much. When we scored, my husband would pick me up, causing my feet to kick her in the leg. I apologized and instead of getting pissy (which would have been within her rights) she said it was no big deal.

I often wonder about our use of "Tiger Bait". Isn't that something that we would get trapped with?

Hmm, maybe. I guess I've just always thought of it as "(insert team's mascot) is something that tigers would eat."
Then again, yes, it would be something you'd trap a tiger with, because... how else are you going to get a tiger? They aren't like dogs or bears or chickens. If those animals come up to you, you've got a decent chance of getting out alive. If a tiger comes up to you, it's more than likely running you down to eat you. You'd want some tiger bait on you then.
This man could have used some tiger bait

TIGERBAIT...
it depends on which direction you are looking from...
1) it is something a TIGER will eat
2) it is something to catch a tiger with
I guess we choose meaning 1
