First, they are whining like babies that they got screwed out of the NC game in 2007, even though they couldn't win their division, much less their conference.

Now, they are actually whining that the refs cost them yesterday's game?

What the hell? Georgia wasn't like this in the past.

Is this a Mark Richt thing, or has Athens been taken over by football-loving homosexuals?

didn't cost us the game by any means. still let up a big return and a long TD run. but it was a pretty pivotal bullshite flag in all seriousness

Probly, but you dont know what Green said to the ref when he looked at him and put his arms up right when they started celebrating

Your kickoff coverage blew the game. LSU might not have been able to drive from the 30 if y'alls coverage could have stopped LSU like ours did after the 15 yard penalty.

If anything blame the coverage.

It was a lame call, but it had minimal effect on the outcome.

i mean that's what i said. i said that the return and then scott's TD cost us the game, not the penalty. but i can definitely say that the penalty played a role.

Put yourself in their position. LSU screwed them out of it in 2003, in 2007 and probably ended their hopes again this year. How would you feel about losing to LSU?

Chuck got the same penalty against him and we tackled their returner at the 35 which is damn good coverage. Regardless UGA was lucky to be in the game with our awful red zone offense. I think the better team won. May not be saying much, but whatever.

Yes, it was a bullshite flag, and it's a bullshite rule that I hope gets changed really soon... but, there were a bunch of bullshite calls throughout the whole game. They went both ways. No need for crybaby whining.

For all the bulldog whiners, I would hate to see what would happen if you guys went through one of Auburn's homefield ref-gate games.

Refs threw a flag on Scott as well. So they had the same opportunity as us to return the kick. There return guy sucked.

the missed grounding call in the end zone would have made all of the other stuff a mute point.

If it had been grounding you may have a point.

As did their coverage team and special teams coaching. We gave them plenty of chances.

I thought the refs were just bad period going both ways...They missed the safety call and there were numerous holding calls that went uncalled especially on their first scoring drive when alem got drug to the ground coming around the end.

Anyone who doesn't think that it was intentional grounding in the endzone doesn't understand the spirit of that rule.

I don't care if he MIGHT have been 2 inches outside of the "tackle box". The bottom line is that he was in the pocket and dumped the ball under extreme duress, with the intention of avoiding a sack.

Hell, the old NFL rules would have ruled him "in the grasp".

In no way was he trying to complete a pass. That was obviously intentional grounding, but the refs blew the call and that's the way it goes sometimes.

So if a person does not "mean" to hold he should not be flagged.

Of course not, so there is no way a "spirit" of any rule is applied. Rules are enforeced by definition, and by definition he was outside the box, the ball went past the line of scrimmage, the ball went out of bounds, there was a receiver in the general vicinity.

Do we really want officials to interpret the rules based on the 'spirit'? Of course not.

It was bullshite but wasn't pivotal.

Georgia had the same opportunity that LSU had after Scott got called for the same thing. It took LSU 23 seconds to score, Georgia could have done the same. LSU got a 40 yard return on the kickoff Georgia could have done the same. Again the call is bullshite both ways, but neither determined the outcome of the game.

You, sir, need to read the complete NCAA rulebook. Of course the spirit of the rule is taken into account. Just as none of us want a ticket for 47 in a 45 the officials should be aware of mitigating circumstance. In fact, the book doesn't mention a player "in the area" in regards to grounding. The intent is to prevent a player from grounding to "avoid a loss".
