Should shep have gotten a series in the 3rd qtr

He fumbled on his 2nd touch ever, he nearly fumbled today, and he didn't line up correctly today when put in for a series. He's awesome, but I like the fact they weren't letting him handle the ball deep in our own territory with game on the line.
