1) Clock Management at end of 2nd Quarter
2) Piss Poor formation for 4th and inches play

Other than that, I think the coaches called a pretty good game all around. Yes, we sucked inside the red zone, and I screamed thru the TV a dozen times in the 1st half because of our ineptness in scoring. But, some of this has got to be put on pure execution.

I still think the Spread formation SUCKS bigtime -but we finally got Scott going today with some different formations. JJ is young, but growing up fast. Once he starts stepping up in the pocket more, he'll be okay and the OLine will be able to protect him better. LSU should've won this game by at least 10, but guys, some of this is poor execution. The only thing I still see that I don't like is when we go to an empty backfield on 2nd and short - that is the time to run out of the I-formation, and setup the pass with play-action.

Why did Miles say we didn't have a shot at the Endzone at the end of the 2nd Quarter??

JJ can't throw it that far???

Just returning home from the game(i live in GA)..as happy as I am, you cannot minimize our piss poor play calling in the first 3 quarters, it was the sickest feeling sitting there knowing we left 17 to 20 points on the field in the first half..The sense of urgency the offense and JJ played with on the last two drives should be our identity moving forward

I disagree. The offensive line left us holding the bag on that play. Good call players just didn't get their job done.

See #1 above - clock management at end of 2nd Quarter.

The way I saw it, on 3rd and 2 with over 40 seconds left on the 40 yd line and 1 timeout left, even if you don't make the 1st down, you still have time to either run or pass again for 1st down - stop clock with maybe 25+ seconds left - then "spike the ball"; then at least 2 throws to get it inside the 30. We get 1 dive play over the middle off for -0- yards; that sucked, and I could've ripped Miles' head off for poor clock management. A 9-0 halftime lead changes the complection of this game IMO.

3)Peterson was covering Green very well in the 1st half. We went to zone and Green worked Hawkins over. We never adjusted.
4) Scott was picking up yards behind Ridley as FB. Never saw that formation in the 2nd half.
5) Where the hell was Shepard in the 2nd half?

And I like Miles! But good Lord.

Jesus, am I dreaming, some one (tigerstuckinokieland) on this site who actually watched the game and knows something about football, "its a revelation", "its a f_ _ _ _ _ _
revelation". One of the rare and few to the point and accurate posts on here.

Lou,

See my comments about the I-formation. I've been preaching this since Game 1. THe only reason we're not running effectively is our formation. This spread formation doesn't work for running the ball consistently. That's part of game management, for sure, but I'm talking "major screw-ups", and 2 above were major.

You gotta think the "stacking of the box" in the 2nd half would've shut down Shep. He still looks prone to fumbling, too.

How is it IMPORTANT to get Shep in the game on the 2nd play of the game against Moo U and NONE in the 2nd half. And, Today on the 3rd play of the game today and not much at all or any in the 2nd half today!!

WTF!

Because he tries to get out of tough interviews that question his decision making by bringing up some bullshite that doesn't make sense, or he just doesn't answer the question at all.

Omegaman,

I agree that it was poor execution - this formation could've worked. But, the thing I didn't like about it was that it almost completely ruled out the idea of a sweep or pass. It had no momentum with the tight formation, and GA was able to plug the line.

I'm sure Les isn't the only coach today that has made 2 coaching blunders today.

Not kicking the Fg on 4th and inches to make it a two score game.

Russel Shepard not knowing the play in the 4th Qt and having to burn a timeout.

The defense played there arse off today. The offense has to score Touchdowns in the red zone.

Winning Ugly is better than losing pretty.

true, but I'd like for the dude to say he made a mistake sometimes or wanted to be conservative.

I think we should get a big group of callers this week into the show and every question be "what were you thinking to end the 1st half"?

I'm so tired of his dancing

Prom,

That was my point - aside from the clock management at the half, which was assinine, overall the coaching was pretty good. Execution inside the red zone is partly the players fault. I don't understand why we didn't try to pound the ball more inside the 10 out of the I-formation and setup the play-action to the tight end or a back, but aside from that, 1-2 coaching F-ups is not bad.

4th and inches I don't think anyone on earth thought we would do anything but run up the middle. In that situation (inches) we should be able to get the inches regardless. I still say good call poor execution.
