A couple of comments after watching the replay

1) if we do not open up the passing game, we will not be able to run the ball. MSU loaded the box and over-committed to stop the run throughout the game. We appear to be a very poor middle screen/slant team, but we need to add this component or our opponent's safeties and LBs can continue to overplay the run.
2) Russian's snap was high, but Helton has to make that catch. He mishandled three snaps yesterday...maybe we need to have a QB handling on FGs.
3) Our linebackers make very few plays at the point of attack. Riley, Cutrera and Sheppard run themselves out of way to many plays, and Cutrera can't seem to shed a block.
4) overall, the D-line seems to be doing their job but are not getting LB support. This is causing our safeties to overplay the run and overbite on play action at times. If our LB play can be shored up, we will have a very strong D.

Helton dropped way too many balls yesterday. Please put a receiver or a better athlete than our punter holding on FG's.

I would certainly suggest Shepard because he gives you lots of options in the fake FG game.

Using Shep to hold on PATs and FGs is a great idea.
Alex Russian needs to become permanent second string long snapper. Crappell has done an excellent job.
